As I wrote in an earlier post, I attended the 2011 Annual Conference of the National Association of Independent Schools. On Day 1, I saw presentations by Sheena Iyengar, Sugata Mitra, Jim Tracy and Nancy Boyle of Cushing Academy, and Dan Heath. It was an excellent opportunity to hear top-notch writers and speakers on a variety of topics related to education.
My big takeaway lesson of the conference is this:
Decide what your educational philosophy is, stay true to it, and then find the tools that support that philosophy. Using tech tools just because they are the latest thing will not work. Your philosophy always comes first.
In my next several posts, I will be sharing my thoughts on what I learned from the sessions I attended.
