This post is all about binomials, those polynomials that have two terms. If a binomial is raised to a power, expanding it can be very tedious. Fortunately, we can quickly expand them using The Binomial Theorem. If the power of the binomial isn’t too large, we can use Pascal’s Triangle to whip out that expansion in no time. I really enjoy teaching this topic, because I love patterns and symmetry, and there aren’t many mathematical constructs with more patterns and symmetry than Pascal’s Triangle!
